Down Came a Spider...

... to wish you a Happy Halloween!

I whipped up this cute and quick Halloween card with my new Googly Gouls and Wacky Wishes stamp sets.  I had the panel from the Howlstooth and Scarybone designer paper and the scallop edge strip leftover from my Frightening Feline card I posted earlier.  I simply added a narrow border of Tangerine Tango at the top to finish it off.  Next, I stamped the Happy Halloween from Wacky Wishes on Very Vanilla cardstock with Black Craft Ink and heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.  I cut it down and mounted it on a black piece just slightly larger.  My spider from Googly Gouls was stamped in the Black Craft Ink and heat embossed in Clear Embossing Powder as well.  I love this little spider!  He's so cute!  I punched him out with my 1 1/4" Circle Punch and mounted him on a Tangerine Tango circle punched with my 1 3/8" Circle Punch.  Both the greeting panel and my spider are adhered to the front panel with Dimensionals.   I love it!

Have a Great Day and Thanks for stopping by,

Box Gone Bad

What do I do when a fabulous project goes terribly wrong?  Hide it :)
I received a wonderful box tutorial from my Mentor & Upline and could not wait to make the project!  However, it went terribly wrong - right in the middle - and there was just no way I could throw that much cardstock and designer paper into the trash and start over!  I had to think of something to hide my mistake!  So, that panel on the front, it isn't supposed to be there :)  Overall, it looks pretty good.   I will try this project again and see if I can't get it right.  I don't think that anyone will know it wasn't intended to look this way.  That is one thing I love about paper crafting:
There are no mistakes, only opportunities for creativity!
Have a fantastic day!

With Sympathy

I recently was in need of a masculine Sympathy card and was inspired by a card I found while searching through Splitcoaststampers.  I was fortunate to own the stamp set they used: the recently retired Uncharted Territory.  I lined up the two stamp images on my largest clear block and inked it up with Early Espresso.  I stamped it on to a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock and ran the panel through the BigShot with my Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I added that panel to a panel of Early Espresso Cardstock cut 1/4" larger and put them on a Very Vanilla Card.  I punched my With Sympathy out with my Modern Label Punch then added snips of Early Espresso, punched with the same punch, to the ends.

Introducing Wonderfall

I love leaves!  I love Fall!  I just knew I had to have the new Wonderfall stamp set and coordinating Bigz Die called Autumn Accents on page 33 of the new Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog.  This was the first project I made with the set and I'm really happy with how it came out.  I'll be back later with the full details.

Happy Stamping,
Mary

While I had a moment...

My new box of Stampin' Up goodies arrived on Tuesday and I only had time to check off the packing list against the contents of the box :(

I found myself with an hour to myself Wednesday afternoon and decided to dig into my goodies and see what I could come up with!  This card was the end result!

Halloween usually is not my kind of holiday.  Sad but true.  However, the new Halloween products in our Holiday Catalog are just too incredibly awesome to pass up!  I love this kitty!  I've decided it's a "She".   Stampin' Up calls her Frightening Feline... I call her Spunky!  I wanted to use our new Googly Eyes on her but they were too large for my liking.  I ended up using mini black brads.  I love the way she looks stamped in my Black Craft Ink and Clear Embossing Powder!  Flat black just would not do for this little Minx.

I used the Large Scallop Edgelit to cut a border in Tangerine Tango to coordinate with the strip of our new Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer paper then cut about 1/4" off the front of my black cardstock so the scalloped edge is the front edge of the card.   For the tag, I cut cardstock 2 3/4" by 3 1/2", rounded the corners with the 3/16" corner rounder and cut the top corners off with a square punch.  The tag is attached to the card front with Dimensionals.   I love when quick and easy cards come out fabulous!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pastel Papillon Potpourri

I absolutely love how this card came out!
I found a similar card on Splitcoast ( I think...) and had to make one.
My Butterflies were stamped with brown stazon and then sponged with ink.  I used Perfect Plum, So Saffron and Pretty in Pink.   They are popped up on Elegant Butterflies punched with coordinating cardstock to make them "pop".  The card base is Pretty in Pink.  The layers are Whisper White, Perfect Plum border punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch and a strip of Soft Suede to tie in the brown from the butterflies.  Then I added a soft ribbon bow in Pink Satin.
The card measures 3" x 6".   Perfect for a Birthday card, as a gift card holder, or just to brighten someone's day!

The wait is over...

It has been very busy for the Bush family this week.  I had my Granddaughters Monday - Tuesday while their Brother was making his arrival into the world!  Atticus Edward is an incredibly beautiful baby!  22 days early and perfect!  His big sisters are so proud and so excited - as are we :)  I can't wait until he comes home and we can cuddle him and love on him!

Before going to the hospital to meet our new Grandson, Midge and Lucy went to see the Vet.  Both girls had positive outcomes!  Midge returned to field training on Tuesday night and did better than she had been doing before her 2 weeks of R&R!  We hope to return to Agility class tonight - positive vibes being sent to our instructor who has been out the past two weeks with a knee injury of her own!  I'm hoping her Doctors have her on the road to recovery too!

I have managed to work in a couple of Stamping projects but I need to photograph them so I can post them.  The Girls made a few cards for their new sibling as well: pink ones and blue ones, just in case :)
I should get them posted too...

Have a great day!

Friday already!

It has been a very crazy week here!  Midge gave me a scare on Sunday with a rear leg and my poor Lucy's face swelled up on Tuesday night!  I had to rush her in to the Vet on Wednesday.   It appeared to be an infected salivary gland so they put her on an antibiotic.   Thankfully, a few hours after the first dose, she appeared much better!  Today, you can't tell anything was wrong from the outside.   I am crossing my fingers that it stays that way!  Midge's leg appears to be ok but she goes to the Vet on Tuesday for her yearly appointment and we will have her leg checked out then.  Until then, no Agility and no Field training!  And, no soccer, tennis balls, etc.  Poor Midge!  On a good note, my first order out of the New Holiday Catalog arrived yesterday!!!  I have all of my new stamp sets mounted and have tested them out, along with the new Framelit dies and Sizzix Die I ordered!  I hope to have some new projects ready to post this weekend!  In the meantime, Happy Friday everyone!

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday everyone!
We had a fantastic weekend camping with family.  I got to witness two of my Grand Daughters learning to ride their bikes without training wheels!  I have never been so amazed!   Saturday they were learning to "start up" and keep balanced and "turn".  By Sunday morning, they were flying along the roads of the campground, making turns, applying brakes, and maneuvering off-road terrain!   I am awed by how fast they are growing up.  They need to slow down, just a little.

Birthday Card for Mom
I made this card for my Mom for her Birthday.  I thought the pretty butterflies would brighten her day.  I made it to coordinate with a box I had made but didn't end up needing.  I used the retired Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper to punch my butterflies with the new Elegant Butterfly Punch.  They are layered on Melon Mambo cardstock punched with the same punch.  I enhanced them with some rhinestones I had in my stash.  This card finally provided me the opportunity to use some of my Scallop Dots Ribbon in Melon Mambo.  A very quick and easy, yet pretty, card for my Mommy.
