Happy Birthday Dear Bill

A wonderful man had a birthday yesterday and this was the card I made for him.
I wanted something masculine but with a sentiment that told him how wonderful he is!

I actually came up with this design for a challenge entry that I will be posting tomorrow.
I just changed the color combination!  Yay!  Easy Peasy!

This card showcases a stamp that you can earn for FREE
during Sale-a-bration beginning January 22nd

The stamp set is called Vintage Verses and there are 4 stamps in the set.
You can earn the set for FREE with a $50 order!
I LOVE Sale-a-bration!!!!!
If you do not currently have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator of your own,
and would like a copy of the Sale-a-bration Brochure,
let me know and I will be happy to get one to you!

I started with Basic Black for my card then added a layer of Cherry Cobbler topped with a layer of Crumb Cake.  The Crumb Cake layer was embossed with the new Spring Catalog embossing folder called Honeycomb. This folder was at the top of my list when the new Spring Catalog came out!
You can find it on page 6 or in my online store - use item # 129378.  As with all of our regular embossing folders, it's a bargain at only $7.95!

I stamped my sentiment with my White Craft ink pad (IB pg 157 #101731 $7.50)
and cut it out with one of my Window Frames Collection Framelit Dies.
I was so excited to see that these dies carried-over from our Holiday Catalog into the Spring Catalog!!!!
You can see all of the carry-over items on page 36 of the Spring Catalog!

I chose the next size Window Frame up from the image size to cut a layer in Cherry Cobbler.  I used the coordinating piercing template from the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack (another carry-over item from the Holiday Catalog) to pierce the holes that give that extra special touch.

The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon (IB pg 172 #124138 $7.95/10yds).
One side has white dots and the other side - the side I used here - is solid!
That really gives you two ribbons in one!

I hope you have enjoyed today's card!  I hope it made Bill feel as special as we feel he is :)

Thanks for stopping by today!
If you have any questions on today's card, don't hesitate to contact me -
I'm happy to answer any questions you may have!

  2. Awww, shucks, thanks for your comment nycreampuff!
    I get inspiration everywhere really!
The stamp set I used for this card inspired most of it. That and I really wanted to use my new Honeycomb embossing folder :)
Once I chose my colors, it all came together :)
