Flowering Cactus For Masculine Monday

Welcome to Masculine Monday!

Today's project is actually fitting for anyone.  If you think it's too feminine looking, swap the bow for one in Linen Thread and swap the Calypso Coral Mat for one in Mossy Meadow.  Voila, You have a totally different look!

Project Prep:

• Pear Pizzazz Card Base – 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼” 
• Pear Pizzazz Layer - 4” x 5 ¼” 
• Pear Pizzazz - Scrap for Die-Cutting Cactus
• Basic White Layer – 4 ¼” x 3 ¼”
• Calypso Coral Layer – 4 5/8” x 3 3/8”
• Mossy Meadow - Scrap for Die-Cutting Cactus

Instructions:

• Use the leafy embossing folder on the left edge of the Pear Pizzazz layer and add it to the card base.
• Stamp the sentiment in the upper right corner of the white layer in Mossy Meadow ink.
• Use the border die on the bottom of the white layer, add it to the layer of Calypso Coral and then to the card with dimensionals. 
• Die-Cut the tall cactus from Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow scraps, Die-Cut the small printed cactus from one of the pieces of DSP in the medley.
• Add Cacti to card front: Mossy Meadow Cactus and Printed Cactus with Stampin' Seal or Liquid Glue, Pear Pizzazz Cactus with Dimensionals 
• Adhere the felt flowers with liquid glue.
• Tie a double bow with the Calypso Coral thread and add it to the printed cactus with a glue dot.

Welcome to our 

Flowering Cactus Medley Blog Hop!

From the moment I turned the pages of the new 

Jan - June Mini Catalog,

I knew I wanted to pair this Flowering Cactus medley 

with the Ride The Range Bundle!  

In my eyes, they were made to go together!

It must all those years of watching old John Wayne westerns on TV!

What do you think?  Do you agree?

I created my Sunset background with the new Blending Brushes 

- in Crushed Curry, Terracotta Tile, and Real Red -

and built it up from there.

The large cactus, and it's flower, are die-cuts included in the kit.

The smaller ones were stamped on Basic White by adding Old Olive and Terracotta Tile inks to the stamp with a Sponge Dauber.  

They were then cut out with the coordinating die 

from the Flowering Cactus Dies.

Tip - I added Adhesive Sheets to the back of Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede Card Stock before die-cutting my fence and Windmill.  That made adhering these intricate pieces easier.

I'm so excited that Stampin' Up! is coming out with so many Landscape Dies.  💭I need to cut out samples of all of the various landscapes we have and make a chart!

I also added Wink of Stella to all of the Cactus plants - just to add a little more "pop".
